The uruli is made from special bronze which consists of copper, tin, zinc in a particular ratio. The urli or uruli is a traditional Indian bowl that has been used for cooking and decorating for centuries. ... The bowl is fashioned out of solid brass, so it has a warm, golden color. This helps in making the food cooked in the uruli both healthy and tasty. The manner uruli have very high heat holding capacity which enables saving of fuel to a greater extend. Copper or brass reacts with sour food, salt, and lemon which can be harmful to the body. Therefore, they are not recommended to eat or cook in. Whereas Kansa or Bronze does not react with sour acidic food hence, it is the best metal to eat and cook in.
